Bio

Two time Grammy award nominee and winner in 2011, José Galeano has been playing and performing since the age of 6. Originally from Nicaragua, José’s earliest musical influence was his uncle, José “Chepito” Areas, percussionist and timbale player for Santana and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

José is a member and one of the principle songwriters of latin funk sensation, Grupo Fantasma and has had the honor of performing across the globe with musical legends such as Prince, Sheila-E, Larry Harlow and Maceo Parker, as well as performing at world renowned festivals like Bonnaroo, North Sea Jazz Festival and The Montreal Jazz festival.

During 2016, José has been recording his own original material for a solo side project, due to be released in early to mid 2017. “Galeano’s” sound is a mix of World Afro-Latin music. Enjoy!!
