Tim Smith

Tim Smith is a versatile professional drummer and percussionist with a lifelong

love for music and arts. His teaching style is relaxed and positive reinforcement based, with a careful balance in emphasis on execution and fun.

Growing up in Austin, Texas, Tim started studying drums at age 13 and would

later find a mentor in UNT Jazz Graduate Ed Jarusinsky (Israel Nash, Max Frost,

Nakia, Kelly Willis, Bob Schneider & more). Tim has also had the pleasure of

studying with longtime educator and TCU music education graduate, Cameron

Carbone (Altermind).

As a touring and performing drummer, Tim has been blessed to have performed

with a number of notable artists including Arielle, Jake Ward (5 consecutive Texas

#1’s), Angela Petrilli, Big Wy’s Brass Band (2018 AMA winner for “Best Horns”),

The Capitol (Seen on Netflix Original show “Queer Eye”), The Aaron Clift

Experiment and many more.

As a recording artist Tim has had the pleasure of working with Grammy award

winning mixing engineers such as Randy Miller and Steven Christensen. He has

also worked with distinguished engineers and producers including Matt Novesky,

Nick Landis, Matt Parmenter, Russell Tanner, and more.
