Drum teacher

José Galeano

José Galeano has been around music his entire life. He got his hands on a drumset at age 7 and has been playing ever since. Jose has been heavily influenced by the music he grew up with and the musicians in his family, most notably his uncle Jose “Chepito” Areas, who played with Carlos Santana. 

Jose studied music in college and has been playing in bands for over 30 years including legendary Austin band “Grupo Fantasma”. He’s been twice nominated for a Grammy, with one win, as well as a member of The Austin Music Hall of Fame. 

Jose has been teaching at Don’t Stop Rockin’ for over a decade where he’s earned a reputation for being a master drum teacher. He forms a strong bond with each student and has inspired hundreds of young drummers along the way. Jose is a true musical gem.
