Sara Zare

Sara Zare was born into a musically inclined family in Iran, where she wasdeeply influenced by her father’s professional singing. Immersed in Persian classical music from an early age, she developed a profound passion for the art form. Following the completion of her first degree in Iran, she embarked on formal vocal training, fueling an ever-growing dedication to her craft. This devotion ultimately led her to pursue a professional career in singing, prompting her to enroll in an academic voice program. However, due to the restrictions on female vocalists in Iran, she sought opportunities abroad and secured admission to the esteemed music program at Georgia State University in Atlanta. She later continued her postgraduate studies at the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

Sara’s artistic journey flourished through numerous university performances and independent musical endeavors. She made her musical theatre debut in the world premiere of Covidious, A Musical Satire, portraying the roles of Dianne and Dr. Morgan. She was later cast in The Addams Family musical, further establishing her presence in the theatre scene. Following this, she took on the role of The Duchess in King of Hearts with The Alchemy Theatre, as well as the role of Vashti in Unveiled, A Musical with Soundbeacon Entertainment. Her latest stage appearance was in Grand Hotel in which she portrayed the role of Elizaveta Grushinskaya with The Alchemy Theatre.

Beyond musical theatre, she was one of eight distinguished female vocalists featured in the 2021 Let Her Sing festival and performed at the renowned SXSW music festival in 2022. Her talent and artistry were further recognized with a silver medal from the Global Music Awards in 2021.

In addition to her performance career, Sara has been a dedicated vocal instructor since 2019, mentoring students of all ages. She was previously affiliated with River Oaks Music School and is currently teaching at Velocity Music Academy. She is thrilled to be joining the new school, Don’t Stop Rockin’, where she eagerly embarks on a new chapter, sharing her love and passion for music with aspiring singers.
