Shanik Hughes
Shanik Hughes is an experienced voice and piano coach with a background in performance, music production, and live entertainment. With over 30 years in the entertainment industry, Shanik brings a wealth of knowledge to her students, from foundational music theory to advanced vocal techniques.
Having performed across diverse platforms, from film and soap operas to live music events, Shanik’s teaching approach is tailored to help each student reach their unique potential. She specializes in building confidence, refining technique, and nurturing each student’s creativity through personalized coaching.
Based in Austin, Texas, Shanik is passionate about helping students of all ages discover their musical talents while providing a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

Shanik Hughes is an actress, host, songwriter, and singer who has excelled in various fields. She has studied at renowned institutions such as Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) de Televisa, CasAzul, TVI Studios in Los Angeles, and the Broadway Dance Center in New York. Her career began in Mexico, when at the age of five, she appeared on the show Sábado Gigante (Univisión). Alongside acting, she explored dance genres such as classical ballet, flamenco, tango, jazz, tap, and hip-hop, channeling her learnings and experience into her first album: Shanik (2009). In 2011, she appeared on the reality show Protagonistas (Univisión). The strong connection the audience developed with her significantly boosted her career. She later appeared in productions such as Rosario, Corazón valiente, Libre para amarte, and Hoy es para amar. In theater, she has performed in productions like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Broadway, 2010), Almost, Maine (2013), and Kill Me Because I Am Dying! (2016). Additionally, she acted in the movie Everybody Loves Somebody (2017).
Currently, Shanik is focusing her energies on a new project: she will produce and perform covers of Spanish music that highlight the beauty of Mexico and its immense culture, as well as that of other
Latin American countries. She now lives in Austin, Texas, where she continues to create new music and plans a new tour.
